Tips for Shoot Day!

  • Keep clothing simple. Try to choose solid colors for your photo session.

  • I may suggest a full-length pose. Make sure you coordinate your clothing from head  to toe.

  • Darker clothing slims. Choose shades of black, brown, blue, dark green and other jewel-toned colors.

  • Scoops or v-necks flatter shorter necks and full faces. Turtlenecks or high-necked garments flatter longer necks and slender faces.

  • Keep clothing consistent. Have everyone dress in  the same style. Don't mix casual and formal clothing in photos.

Coordinate Colors

  • Wear light on white. Light pastel or white clothing looks best against a light-colored or white photography backgrounds.

  • Wear dark on dark. Dark clothing looks best against darker backgrounds and creates a more formal mood.

  • Add accents. Show your style in small accents. Save stronger colors and patterns for accessories like scarves and neckties.

  • What happens first?
If you're interested in me being your photographer, the first thing I like to do is a casual meeting to get to know each other a little bit and to talk about what I can offer and how we can mold that to fit your specific needs. At this time we will also go over my packages, pricing, and answer any questions you may have! We can meet up at a coffee or tea shop, a cute restaurant for dinner, a walk in the park - wherever you will feel the most comfortable! I also offer phone call and Skype meetings if you are a little too far away to simply meet up :)
  • How should we prepare for our Session?
Good mood is the most important thing :-). Make sure you have enough time to prepare beforehand so you are not stressed, comfortable clothing fitting the season and be open to venture out. With kids and/or pets, it helps to bring something to drink and some little treats to make it easy for them as well. We can go through specific questions before your shoot so we can ensure you are well prepared. You can also check out our "pre-shoot checklist" for pointers on what to do before our session.
  • How do you describe your shooting style?
I love candid moments and real emotions between the wonderful people we get to photograph. In our session I focus on your interactions and try to give you as much space as possible, but of course also guide you if necessary. Standing in front of the camera is not an everyday occurrence, so I want you to be as comfortable as possible.
  • Which locations do you recommend for a Portrait Session?
I do outdoor photography sessions, indoor shoots, and love to explore cities, go on hikes with you and can shoot (almost) anywhere you might come up with. The best places are where you feel most comfortable so you enjoy the session as much as possible. I love to talk to clients about their ideas so just send me a quick message and we can get into the details.
  • How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
A sneak preview will be published on our website within one week after the shoot. The final proofing of the photos usually takes 4 to 6 weeks but under certain circumstances I can have them finished earlier.
  • Do I get all the images you take?
I thoroughly go through all images I take during a session and will take out the obviously unusable ones in a first step. I also reduce the amount of duplicates so you can enjoy only the best images. With each package we guarantee a minimum amount of images, but in the end you will get all the images which make it into the final collection.
